Grief and gratitude are not necessarily conflicting. One does not nullify the other. Being grateful to have had someone dear to us in our life and despairing that they are no longer here with us in physical form or being grateful that they are exempt from all and any suffering and still wishing they could have been with us for longer, are two examples of grief and gratitude co-existing.

'Nothing can hurt you now' is a short simple piece of music I composed in an attempt to express these two powerful emotional states.

It takes time to reach any kind of peace and acceptance when faced with the death of someone important to us but I believe that when we do make peace with it, we can achieve an inner strength and by doing so, we honour the memory of those we loved and still continue to love.

Some day, someone will have to do the same for us.
